1. Introduction

NC State University as a public institution recognizes that its buildings, facilities and property should be readily accessible. However, because of the nature of the work conducted therein, certain areas may be accessed only if there is an academic or business need and after proof of identity is provided.

2. Showing Your Wolfpack One Card

All NC State University employees and students are required to carry their Wolfpack One Card with them at all times in university-owned or leased buildings or facilities, on university-owned or leased property and while conducting official university business. Individuals may be asked by a university official to present their Wolfpack One Card for various university purposes such as accessing buildings, prior to using the library and computer resources or to attend athletic and entertainment events. If an individual is unable to present their Wolfpack One Card as requested, the individual may be denied access to the applicable university facilities, resources, benefits, and athletic and entertainment events for which the Wolfpack One Card was requested.

3. Displaying a Wolfpack One Card

University units/departments may, upon approval of their Vice Chancellor or Dean, designate various areas as accessible only by authorized university employees or students who display on their person a Wolfpack One Card.

4. Public Access/Identification

University units/departments may, upon approval of their Vice Chancellor or Dean, designate various areas as accessible to the public only by presentation of a picture identification such as a state-issued driver’s license.
