This rule describes the procedure to award this professorship and is in agreement with the terms of the endowment.

2. PROCEDURE

2.1. The Head of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering will appoint a selection committee consisting of at least three tenured NC State faculty members who are full professors with the majority being Professors of Distinction.

2.2. Full professors with a full time appointment working in some area of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering may be considered for this named professorship.

2.3. The committee will recommend a recipient to the Dean based on the applicable criteria set forth in NCSU REG05.20.17 – Professorships of Distinction. Recommendation of the nominee is decided by majority vote of the committee.

2.4. The income from this endowment may be used for partial salary support and/or research funding for the named professor. The allocation of salary and research support will be determined by the department head in consultation with the named professor.
