  1. Purpose: Listing of Required Course Materials with NCSU Bookstores

1.1 A Textbook Adoption Record of all course-related materials that students are required, recommended, or instructed to use for courses taught at NC State University shall be provided to NC State Stores by the faculty member responsible for each course.  The deadlines for submitting the Textbook Adoption Record will be in compliance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 and will be distributed by NC State Stores and the Office of the Provost prior to the start of the adoption cycle for each term.

1.2 NC State Stores will make the course material listing available, via the online store, to students and the general public as early as commercially possible, but not later than 30 days prior to the start of each academic term. Textbook adoption records received outside of the published deadlines will be posted as they become available.

1.3 Course-related materials shall include standard textbooks and manuals from publishing houses, reprinted or photocopied books or manuals produced by local vendors, digital content, e-books, instructor-produced content, alternate web content, or open educational resources (OER).

1.4  Where applicable, all such course related materials may be made available through NC State Stores to students who desire to purchase the materials on campus.  For materials that cannot be made available through the bookstore, but are available at off-campus locations, NC State Stores will post a list displaying the name and location of the commercial enterprise or source location where the materials can be obtained.
