- INTRODUCTION
This rule describes standards and procedures of the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering for post tenure review of faculty. It supplements NC State University’s Academic Tenure Policy and Regulation on Post Tenure Review of Faculty. To the extent of any inconsistency, the Academic Tenure Policy and Post Tenure Review Regulation control. The Department Head is responsible for assuring that the procedures as set forth inNCSU REG05.20.04 – Post Tenure Review of Faculty and this Rule are followed.
- Post Tenure Review Committee (PTRC)
2.1 Selection
The Post-Tenure Review Committee will consist of all tenured full professors in the Department. The Department Head will chair the meetings of this Committee as a non-voting member. It is the responsibility of the Committee to assess the contributions of each faculty member to the Department in a holistic manner based on their Statement of Faculty Responsibilities, recognizing that individuals can contribute to the academic accomplishments of the Department and University in different ways, and that the nature of these contributions may change over the duration of a faculty member’s career. For this reason the Committee will expressly refrain from ranking reviewees relative to each other. In support of this objective the Committee will base its deliberations on the documentation set forth in section 5.2 of NCSU REG05.20.04 – Post Tenure Review of faculty, together with other supporting evidence reviewees feel may be relevant.
2.2 Meeting Schedule
In Fall semester the Department Head will announce which faculty will be reviewed during that year and what the schedule will be. The review will be held in the spring after the candidate has assembled the required materials, as set forth in Section 5.2 of NCSU REG05.20.04 – Post Tenure Review of Faculty, from each faculty member to be reviewed.
- DOCUMENTATION PROVIDED TO THE PTRC
The documentation provided to the PTRC is set forth in Section 5.2 of NCSU REG05.20.04 – Post Tenure Review of Faculty.
